Domnic Fernandes was a long-standing member of the Association of Crusaders for Jesus with Mary. He joined the community along with his wife Dolly in the year 2003.

After committing themselves to hearing the Word of God at the weekly prayer meetings, both Domnic and Dolly became actively involved in the outreach work of the ACJM. Soon they were appointed as core members of the Vasco Regional Core Committee. Their dedication and loyalty to the ACJM was notable. Despite many hardships, including raising four daughters, they remained faithful to God and to their calling.

In the year 2015, Dolly was called by Our Lord while she was attending a retreat at the local parish church. Though initially affected by the sudden demise of his spouse, Domnic found strength in God’s grace and emerged with an even stronger resolve to serve God. He joined the Christ Every Home Crusade ministry of the ACJM and used all his time and resources to reach out to a sizeable number of families. Later, he became actively involved in conducting prayer meetings in and around Vasco. All prayer meetings conducted at Karewadda, Bogmallo and Baina were placed under his charge.

A good Christian leader is one who has the heart of a shepherd in him. Domnic had the heart of a shepherd and would reach out to all those placed under his care.  With his caring and humble nature, he would easily win their hearts. They recognised the prophet in him due to his ability to go deep into the Word and also because of the healing charism he possesed. Even while on his deathbed, he was deeply concerned about the welfare of his flock and kept enquiring about them.

On 26th May 2025, Domnic breathed his last at a hospital in Goa.  Following the completion of the last rites at St. Andrews Church in Vasco, he was buried in the cemetery there on 28th May. On 29th May, Crusaders from all over Goa gathered together for an online session of prayer and thanksgiving and the paying of tributes.
