16th October 2025: The Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI) is one of the biggest national conferences of bishops anywhere in the world. They are responsible for the evangelization and overseeing of dioceses all over India. Right now there are 192 bishops operating through various commissions. From time to time, the CCBI invites resource people to conduct training for their top officials, so that the same may percolate to the grassroot level. That way, the Church may be taken forward in India. On this occasion, the CCBI led by Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão, the present President, chose to invite Br. Edmund Antao (Spiritual Superintendant and Guide, and the Founder Coordinator General of the ACJM) to be the resource person for the training of diocesan Chancellors and Vicar Generals, who were invited and housed at the Shanti Sadan, Benaulim, Goa. Accordingly, the training session was conducted with an emphasis on ‘Compassion & Administration’ and it was well received by the participants. This is the second year running that the CCBI has chosen to call Mr. Edmund Antao as a resource person to provide training for the top echelons of the Church in India. Many of the participating Vicar Generals, their interest being evoked, expressed requests to Br. Edmund Antao to visit their diocese and help conduct programs over there too.
