18th Oct: The N.P.M.P ministry of the Crusaders came to be born on 18th October– a ministry to spiritually cater to all those married persons without biological children. This is today a big section with recent studies showing that nearly 4 of every 10 married couples are childless for various reasons. The first ever Seminar for this section of married persons drew many such couples and also single spouses from all over Goa to Pallotti Home. The day long Seminar the first of its kind, was a very profitable and satisfying experience for all participants with in depth discussions & spiritual talks on issues which touch on aspects of the personal lives of those married but without biological kids. The sharing strengthened the faith of all and was very useful.
After months of arduous ground-work, the Seminar itself gave birth to a ministry aptly called the Non Parental Married Persons ministry in the ACJM. Drawing from the Bible teachings, it focused on the call of God who has chosen such persons to live their married lives with abundant spiritual joy and to experience & enjoy spiritual parenthood – which is a matter of a higher order than just being natural parents.
The newly formed NPMP ministry is now to widen its activities to encompass, both Konkani speaking and English speaking married persons, exhorting them to live out life in a manner worthy of God’s calling rather than to fall back into the common nature of human sadness, worry, self pity, insecurity and disappointment.
